Aliya Senghera (She/Her)

Registered Clinical Counsellor

My Approach

For the past ten years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside youth and families on their healing journeys. I believe meaningful change happens when we approach wellness through relationships—with ourselves, others, and the world around us. As a South Asian woman from a culture where counselling is often misunderstood or stigmatized, I understand how uncertain starting therapy can feel. I strive to create a space grounded in empathy, compassion, and curiosity—one that welcomes vulnerability and honours the courage it takes to begin. My work is trauma-responsive and attachment-based, often integrating nature-based practices that include rest, stillness, play, and tuning into the environment around us. These approaches support nervous system regulation and bring us back to what truly grounds us. I also specialize in working with athletes. As a former college athlete, I understand the unique pressures of high-performance settings. I support individuals in exploring their identity beyond sport, separating performance outcomes from their sense of self, and reconnecting with who they are at their core. At the heart of my work is a deep belief in the healing power of connection, authenticity, and cultivating a grounded sense of self.
