Youth Mentorship

What it is

At Ember Centre, our Youth Mentorship program offers one-to-one support for young people navigating life’s transitions, challenges, and moments of disconnection. Through a stable and caring relationship with a trusted adult, youth are invited into a safe space where they can be seen, heard, and supported without judgment.

Mentorship is more than just guidance—it’s an invitation to form a meaningful, trusting relationship with someone who walks alongside you through life’s ups and downs.

What it looks like at Ember Centre

At Ember Centre, mentorship is relational, responsive, and rooted in connection. Each mentorship relationship is unique and shaped by the young person’s interests, goals, and needs. Our mentors are trained, compassionate adults who are dedicated to walking beside youth in a way that feels supportive, empowering, and deeply human.

  • One-to-one sessions are tailored to the youth’s pace and preferences, including nature-based outings, creative expression, or simply having a safe person to talk to.

  • We provide opportunities for skill-building, self-discovery, and exploration, always holding space for the young person’s voice to lead the way.

  • Mentors connect youth to community resources, cultural knowledge, and supportive networks that can further their sense of belonging and capacity to thrive.

  • Emphasis is placed on experiential learning and playful connection with nature, recognizing the healing and grounding power of the outdoors.
